The Neighbourhood Cook
Throughout the year Don and Jan will be running cooking sessions on a variety of topics. This would be a perfect course for anyone wanting to learn basic cooking skills, use fresh ingredients, keep costs down and make meals go further. Not to mention cooking can be a very enjoyable experience, especially when doing it with a small group of people!
Upcoming Courses:
- The Versatility of Mince
Monday 18th of August
11am-1pm at 64 McFaddens Rd
Come try making four different variations of mince dishes using similar ingredients. Gain practical experience in the kitchen and enjoy the fruits of your labour as you taste and share your creations with others.
- The Basics of Cooking
Monday 8th of September
11am-1pm at 64 McFaddens Rd
These basic cooking sessions will start with simple dishes and slowly progress over future sessions to more involved dishes. You will learn how to plan & prepare a meal and as well as gain many other tips.
- Garden to Plate – Tomatoes
Thursday 9th of October
11am-1pm at 64 McFaddens Rd
Winter is a great time for soup. Don saved some tomatoes from the community garden earlier in the year, so we’ll make tomato soup and some garlic bread to go along with it. Use some simple ingredients to create a hearty winter lunch.
Places for each session are limited to eight people so get in quick.
