Paid Positions

Trust Manager

  • Commitment to Christian kaupapa
  • Permanent role 32 per hours per week

The Neighbourhood Trust (NHT) is the community arm of St Albans Baptist Church (SABC) in Christchurch, and as such the Trust Manager has an important role in church leadership and collaboration. You would be expected to participate in and commit to the vision of both the Trust and the Church as we work together to serve our community.

NHT is a charitable trust delivering a wide variety of services to whānau in the Mairehau/St Albans communities. The team of 11 NHT employees, including the Trust Manager, serve in local schools, early learning centres and whānau organisations, as well as providing community support such as foot clinics and social activities for seniors. Kai distribution, ESOL, OSCAR, Children’s Counselling, Golden Connection (services for our senior whanau), annual events and the Mairehau Project are all part of the NHT regular community programme of services.

The purpose of the Trust Manager position is to lead the day-to-day operations of NHT and to provide strong and effective organisational and community leadership. To do this you will grow and develop the Trust in a managed and sustainable way and encourage and empower your team to deliver culturally appropriate programmes. Working with the Board you will set the vision for the Trust and ensure the vision is maintained and responsive to community needs and within the Christian character of the Trust.

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, have proven experience in management in a not-for-profit organisation, have strong financial and budget management skills, possess proven leadership and excellence in relationship management at varying levels and with all types of people and be willing to commit to regular and frequent attendance at SABC to develop ongoing relationships with members and attendees of the church.

This is a great opportunity for a community minded individual to lead a dedicated team working with diverse and multi-generational community groups.
