We have some fun new opportunities for people who would like to use their skills to help our community.
Whanau Centre renovation skills
We are excited to announce that the previous site for our Pay It Forward shop is in the process of being transformed into a community hub called The Whanau Centre, that the Neighbourhood Trust will operate out of in the heart of Mairehau.
- We need a plasterer to fix up some damage on an internal wall; and
- A sign writer to replace our signage with Whanau Centre branding
If you can help with any of these tasks, please contact Don at firstname.lastname@example.org
Neighbourhood News distribution
The Mairehau newsletter has also gone through a transformation. Our revamped Neighbourhood News will be delivered to 3000 households in Mairehau and St Albans in the week beginning 3 August, and we need some help with the logistics of distribution.
- 10 people who love walking, to deliver approximately 300 copies of the Neighbourhood News each
- Someone to coordinate the delivery process, including creating maps, communicating with delivery people and dividing newsletters into delivery bags
Please email Rebecca at email@example.com if you are interested.
Golden exercise leader
We are looking at starting a strength and balance exercise class for our Golden Connection group and are in need of a volunteer leader. There is training run by Active Canterbury on Saturday 22 August, 8:30am – 4:00pm at the North New Brighton Community Centre.
If you are interested in this role and would like to know more, please contact Kim at firstname.lastname@example.org or 355 6522 ext 112.
