One Year On & Getting Stronger

In celebration of its one year anniversary and to say “thank you” to their leader, the members of the Strength & Balance class surprised Sarah with a large bouquet of flowers, a wonderful certificate and a lovely afternoon tea! In addition to running classes every Friday, Sarah is also busy as Operations Manager for Neighbourhood Trust.

Strength & Balance classes are a part of our Golden Connections programme (social events and services for over 60’s). The classes are low impact, circuit classes designed to improve balance, strength and mobility whilst having fun!  There’s a cuppa and time to chat afterwards too. $2 donation to cover costs. The classes happen every Friday, 1pm at The McFaddens Centre.

Here’s To Our Volunteers!

Here's to Our Volunteers!

Our Vision for Neighbourhood Trust is to bring connection, wellbeing and transformation of our community through faith, hope and love. We could not do that without acknowledging all the help, hard work and hours put in from our volunteers.  We’d like to thank: our Neighbourhood News delivery team, our team who volunteer at our Foot Clinics, Strength & Balance classes and other Golden social events, our Community Garden volunteers, our lovely caterers cooking up a storm, all our volunteers who help to pack and deliver kai boxes, our OSCAR volunteers as well as others who give of their time on other initiatives of NHT.Did you know that National Volunteer Week is happening this year from 19th-25th June? Check it out online to read further inspiring stories about how volunteering can enrich your life and your community. You can also share your own volunteer stories and help reshape mahi aroha for the future.

We are looking for volunteers to get involved with our Community Garden Project – and we need your help. We are looking for people to get involved with the initial build of the garden, right through to planting, taking care of the garden, coordinating volunteers, learning skills (attending workshops),.. the list goes on! If you’re keen to volunteer please get in touch with Don by emailing or hop onto our Facebook page @NeighbourhoodTrust and send us a message!

In our next issue of Neighbourhood News due out in May we take some time to celebrate our volunteers further, so keep your eyes out for that!
