Our wonderful team of Neighbourhood Trust volunteers have been delivering Kai Boxes to our Mairehau, St Albans and Shirley whanau since the beginning of Level 4 lockdown. Due to the overwhelming need in our community during this time, we will continue to deliver boxes of fresh fruit and vegetables to as many households as we can.
We have received many lovely messages of thanks from our Kai Box recipients, including this one from a few weeks ago –
“I am writing this mail to convey our heart-felt thanks and gratitude for your generosity in providing a box full of fruits and veggies for my family. We received one box today and had received another one a couple of weeks back. This help has come at a very opportune moment and no words would be enough to express the value that we attribute to it.”
The NHT get referrals for Kai Boxes from our community, those involved in our programmes, and St Albans Baptist Church families. We have partnered with Te Puawaitanga, who are a kaupapa Maori NGO, to make this special service possible, and are also sponsored by Civil Defense.
You can order a Kai Box for someone you know, or for yourself, by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
