There is always the sound of laughter and happy chatting coming from the Redwood Lounge at St Albans Baptist Church when the craft group is there.

Anita, who helps to run the group, has been attending for 15 years and says, “We’re here for fellowship and to have a laugh. Great friendships have been forged in this group, and we’d love to invite more people from the community to join us. Set time aside in your week to do something just for you, in a supportive learning environment.”

Making things with your hands and being creative is an excellent way to improve mental health, and doing it alongside a group of lovely people is a great way to make friends and develop your skills.

How it works

Everyone brings a project to work on, whether it be knitting, card making, rag rugs, scrap booking, cross stitch, painting or any other sort of craft that you’re interested in.

There’s lots of talented people around, so you can get their advice on methods and strategies, and share your own skills with others too.

Just show up on the day, no need to book.
